Supporting the Georgia Poison Center

The Georgia Poison Center (GPC) aims to reduce the incidence and impact of poisonings in Georgia.  This is accomplished by providing timely diagnosis and treatment advice to all callers, and by developing innovative educational strategies that increase awareness of poisoning.

The GPC is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization and serves as an invaluable and cost-effective resource to Georgians. This is evidenced by the fact that over 80% of all calls handled by the GPC represent poisoning situations that can be safely managed over the phone.  The timely, free assistance is convenient, affordable, and in many cases – lifesaving.  Oftentimes eliminating the unnecessary expenses of emergency room visits.  It is estimated that every dollar spent on a poison center saves at least $15 in unnecessary health care expenditures.

In order to continue providing this lifesaving service, the GPC needs your support.  Your contribution will help assure the center will be there in a poison emergency and provide the most expanded educational resources available.  To make a tax-deductible contribution to the GPC, send a check or money order to:
