Advanced Hazmat Life Support (AHLS) Courses
AHLS is offered in collaboration with the
American Academy of
Clinical Toxicology (AACT),
and was developed by the
Arizona Emergency
Medicine Research Center (AEMRC), a
Center of Excellence at The University of Arizona
College of Medicine.
Each course involves a board-certified toxicologist
and physician and is taught by AHLS verified
Instructors. The AHLS program also trains medical
personnel to become AHLS Instructors who bring the
course to their region.
The
Provider course includes small-group
interactive case studies. The Provider and
Instructor courses conclude with verification exams,
and provide a
four-year
verification status with an 80% or
higher score on the exam.
Join the more 8,000 physicians, nurses, paramedics,
pharmacists and other healthcare professionals and
become an AHLS verified provider to be ready to face
the medical challenges of hazmat incidents, such as
chemical spills or toxic terrorism. Continuing
Education credits are available to AHLS participants
through ACCME,
ACPE, ACEP and
CECBEMS
